2020 was supposed to be a year of big adventures for us. We had Australia, Kilimanjaro, or Peru in our plans. But then the global pandemic of Covid-19 came… It shook our daily lives and messed up our dreams but on the other hand directed us to a wonderful place which otherwise would have gone …
Ordesa y Monte Perdido National Park
What do normal people do when they get back home after 10 days of hiking in Iceland? Throw themselves into a soft bed? Have a shower? Eat a huge steak? Well, we are not normal (if you haven’t noticed by now)! Thus, after a long overnight flight back to Spain, we went home only for a couple of hours to repack our backpacks, have a super quick shower (this is as normal as we get 😊) and hit the road again. Direction – North (kind of a tradition for this year).
The practical side of traveling in Iceland
Every trip we do has a part which mostly is left out from the description. Yet, it feels a waste to leave it out, as it might be useful for other travelers or it has some fun personal memories that simply didn’t fit in the main description. Thus, this post is dedicated to all that: …

Iceland unplanned
The bumpy road from Landmannalaugar made us realize how far from the civilization we were. The harsh desert-like landscape continued for more than an hour drive. It was hard to contemplate that such a wonderful place was completely surrounded by a vast rocky desert.
Skogar to Landmannalaugar: Multi-day hiking in Iceland
OMG, where do i start?People say it‘s best to start at the beginning. But our beginning was at the end!…Let´s start it over… The idea of going to Iceland for our summer adventure was hanging in the air at least a couple of years until it finally became a reality. It was a well-prepared trip …

Day adventures 2018
Big adventures, small adventures… we love them all as long as we get an opportunity to escape into the wild. Like the majority of families with kids, we are limited in the amount of time we can spend on crazy and long holidays. Nevertheless, nature for us is a major source of energy and relaxation so we try to have our little escapes as frequently as we can. Those escapes are usually one day hikes or rides with a bike. For the moment, we are not writing a blog post for every small adventure we have, but I feel like summing them all up in one yearly blog post is a right thing to do. It gives us an option to look back and just say “what a wonderful year we had”...

Exploring Vietnam. Part V – Fancy farewell at Hoi An
Hoi An was the last destination on our trip through Vietnam. We wanted to go all the way down to the south of the country but didn’t have enough time. You really need to spend a month in Vietnam to see everything it has to offer.
Hoi An had the most authentic architecture we've seen in Vietnam, which was very well taken care of. No wonder Hoi An is one of the UNESCO cultural heritage sites. It was full of old temples, pagodas, community houses, dragons and... loads of tourist...
Exploring Vietnam. Part IV – Adventurous Phong Nha
I can’t hide… From the very beginning when I’ve started writing down our memories from the trip to Vietnam, I was impatient to get to this part. Phong Nha was our favorite part and I am very happy we had even 5 days to explore it. It was the only place that we had in our trip planned and booked well in advance because of the expedition to the caves. Phong Nha National Park is well known for enormous amount of caves, one of them being the largest cave in the world. But let me start from the beginning.
